I think the album is always gonna be looked at in a semi negative light by the general public the way Yeezus or Cherry Bomb is. But I think avid music listeners will appreciate it down the line and what he was trying to do. General public just wanted a regurgitated Die Lit and a generic Travis feature.
Cherry Bomb still called trash by some people and I loved it first listen
if go2damoon and jumpoutthehouse weren't on this and some songs were more developed this would be an easy aoty
this the best he's flowed in a long while
It’s the same flow he’s been doing for years now. It sounds cringe like usual
wlr finally dropped
but at what cost

facts
What happened with Uzi and Offset in Paris
Carti was the only one in Paris, Offset and Uzi were beefing behind the scenes but when Uzi was on his satanic s*** Offset called him out publicly for it, Carti is close with both obvi

This the most exciting year finale episode ever

U can fr prob make this album a 8/10 if u cut it like 5/6 tracks tbh

It’s not perfect (the title song is f***ing trash and I will die on that hill), but there’s a lot of good stuff and I think it was the first step in Tyler’s more mature/critically acclaimed work. You can hear elements of Flower Boy on it and Igor was way more like Cherry Bomb then Flower Boy.
also carti picked f1lthy as the main wod producer there which was a big W imo
uzi picked brandon finessin who tends to be pretty repetitive imo
not saying he’s not good but f1lthy > brandon
also star boy and outtatown >>>>>
looking at it back then uzi needed some f1lthy on ea and bit less brandon too
but it’s the vocal performance which does the huge quality gap between those two albums there
some of the hate on this album is so forced lmao
do not put this side to side with f***ing the big day
You liking it?

Yeah I remember that
Offset was also coming at Sahbabii over that too.
Seems like ages ago

5/6? nah bro 4 at most
You liking it?
love it and ready to fight about it
I do find it funny that Ye exec produced an album about satanic s***/murder/heavy d*** use/allusions to Carti being god since he on his religious tip now

Meanwhile, Oogie Mane stuck with Matt Ox XDD
Copied from a reddit post I found about it: It started with the Fauni x Yachty beef, when fauni got jumped, and istead of carti supporting fauni, he did a video with Fader titled something along the lines of “When Lil Yachty met Playboi Carti”, with Lil Yachty, like a week after the fight. Thats where it started, then a bunch of other random bullshit happened, like seeing Carti hanging with Bloody Dior, who had shot Uno back in October 2016, and Carti supposedly snitching to the ASAP Mob about Uno and Fauni, and calling them “bitch niggas”
isn't thouxanbanfauni carti blood cousin too
