WESLEYS THEORYThe thing about people is they’re fickle. You can give them something new but a complete reinvention is a toss up.
MOTM3 was received well because he gave the people something new for Cudi, but still retained enough of the old style so that it fit within that universe. Some people were trying to say he was biting Travis, but Travis would kiss the ground he walked on honestly.
People loved MOTM 3 because it was comfortable, no risks were taken. He got on beats that are trendy at the time and didn't take any vocal risks. It's a boring album lowkey

Wrong. If he really wanted to play it safe, he would’ve just given people the 4-5 slower tracks the entire album.
He had never done a style like that before on any of his albums. Thats NOT playing it safe on the highly anticipated closer of your trilogy.
