The only department I feel Sony are losing on is the free games per month/Gamepass.

franchises are so washed up

people rarely ever pay the full $1000 & especially rarely all at once, they get plans & payments set up or even upgrade deals. phones are never comparable to consoles because the payment system is totally different, & phones are seen as a necessity while consoles are not by most.

most launch titles are not good except one or two, the what ifs can go on all day but im sure they have looked at past history.

sony only came back because they dropped their price two years in after they took out a lot of the tech that made the og ps3 expensive.

xbox was beating them until 2011/2012ish, & they still lost to the wii (mainly because it was really cheap compared to the rest & family friendly with new playing tech). even tho the ps2 is the best a company has ever been to this day.

there's a reason why they both have waited to see to say their pricing. neither one of them want a ps3 moment.

you're disconnected if you think the average person wants to spend over $500, i.e. the people that make up the most of the sales. lil tommy is gonna have to wait three years then for the console price to drop before mommy gets it for christmas.

and right now the economy is f***ed up.

consoles are always sold at a lost, because their actual price is suicide.

if there is a $600 -option-, thats fine, but $600 only is not gonna fly. its not realistic for good amount of people, & it sounds crazy to most. like the people itt for example.

that is not true or a regular thing lmao. that process is intrinsically intertwine into phones, not consoles b. what are you talking about. most console purchases are made like most regular goods, you have to go out of your way (which most dont or dont even know how) to set up a plan, & that plan is not taken care of by the company, its totally separate unlike phones or even cars.

i do think consoles should have plans like a phone tho. its been a topic of convo for years.

uhhh, lot of people see that as a necessity. dont know what you mean. and its a bonus for something that is pretty much mandatory in today's society. a game console is not, no matter how you try to spin it. people are willing to splurge a bit (if theyre able too) on a phone because they have to have a phone already anyways. a console is 100% optional through and through, while a phone isn't anymore.

thats a lie. yes games are part of it, but its because it got cheaper. the og ps3 literally had so much packed into it like a literal ps2 inside along with a lot of different audio & visuals cord ports & memory plugs etc. they had to literally strip it over time for it to be manageable price wise.

xbox f***ed up this console gen too b. their console was also expensive af to people (i think it was around $450 to $500 iirc) at first because they forced the kinect onto you the first year or two & the dude that was in charge of xbox at the time was very anti consumer & wanted everything to have drm everything, so it destroyed microsoft reputation. yeah they barely had games this gen, but it goes deeper than that. & mainly again, it starts with the original price point. xbox has spent the rest of this gen with a new leader trying to repair their image that man destroyed.

people have never seen a regular console be over $400 aside for the og ps3 & og x1, which didnt end well. also the pro & xb1x, but those are "enthusiast" consoles that the general doesnt care or know much about. the average citizen isnt ballin' like that fam nor is the average citizen tryna cop a $1000 phone unless they're bad with money & want debt, or if thats all they care about.

i think sony might have a cheaper option & more premium like microsoft. basically the basic & "pro" version at the same time, & it'll look better pr wise.

but yeah, like i said, we'll see what happens.

Facts. I feel the same about remasters. I feel like a good amount of current gen games have been remasters at this point
