violence can be a legitimate manner of enacting change especially on a wide scale so i can't completely agree.

You want a legit answer for your last question?

The answer is because you’re supporting the employer by eating there.

If you’re completely against the whole idea, by all means do not order from restaurants and do not go places where they do not pay minimum wage. Boycott the whole thing because you’re against the idea.

If you’re gonna support the employer/owner and not tip and support the employee you are scum. That’s all there is to it

    Ofc no response

Y’all so against the idea of an employer paying his workers below minimum and think that’s f***ed up don’t support those businesses

    It’s that simple

Stop trying to make it into optional.

They are paid BELOW minimum legal wage with the expectation they earn tips. Thus not earning tips means they are literally not making livable legal wages.

Tipping is dependent on them making money to survive.

No its literally optional, ur not forced to pay for tips therefore it's an option. f*** up if u dont ? Sure. But its still an option

Since your dumbass can’t use google

    $14 per hour for minimum
$12.20 per hour for server wage

Like I said, not nearly as drastic as in USA but there is still a difference

But you can’t explain why besides the tired old they’re making $x to survive trope, or the i do it you should too one.

If you don’t tip, that doesn’t make you a bad person. It’s an option, stop ignoring that. if a serial killer killed 30 ppl but was a great tipper is he/she going to heaven?

you're not a good person for tipping but you're a s*** one for not

since you're posting on the internet, i assume that you have the money to tip (and if not, you do not have the money to pay for food service). i think it makes sense to just take part in normal society and pay workers the wages that we have agreed on so that they survive. you can be anti so many things. don't be anti tip.

i will stop tipping workers when we get them rights and equal pay to other jobs. when tipping is done away with as a society, i will stop giving them money. until then, i know that it is expected that i pay for the service also.

i don't go to a mechanic and try to bargain about the bill. he did the work. he set the price point. i paid for the product. i paid for the labor. it makes sense

If nobody tipped then restaurants would not survive, servers would no longer exist. It may be legally optional, but in reality, it is essential to survival for the industry.

This is like saying "getting a job is optional, nobody's forcing you to get one".

I’m not against the idea of tipping at all, in fact there are times where i tip. what im against is the fact that tipping is optional but treated as if it’s mandatory, it makes me not want to participate at all and because of that, often times i dont.

yes i am going to continue to eat in restaurants, and yes, i am still going to decide whether or not i want to tip (likely not). your “legit answer” sucks btw

If they get enough in tips THEN they’ll get the 2 dollars an hour in addition.

Nice Guy Eddie: C'mon, throw in a buck!

    Mr. Pink: Uh-uh, I don't tip.

Nice Guy Eddie: You don't tip?

Mr. Pink: I don't believe in it.

Nice Guy Eddie: You don't believe in tipping?

Mr. Blue: You know what these chicks make? They make s***.

Mr. Pink: Don't give me that. She don't make enough money, she can quit.

Nice Guy Eddie: I don't even know a f***ing Jew who'd have the balls to say that. Let me just get this straight: you don't ever tip, huh?

Mr. Pink: I don't tip because society says I have to. Alright, I mean I'll tip if somebody really deserves a tip. If they really put forth the effort, I'll give them something extra. But I mean, this tipping automatically, it's for the birds. I mean, as far as I'm concerned, they're just doing their job.

Mr. Blue: Hey, this girl was nice.

Mr. Pink: She was OK. But she wasn't anything special.

Mr. Blue: What's special? Take you in the back and suck your d***?

    They all laugh

Nice Guy Eddie: I'd go over twelve percent for that.
