The Darkest AngelI went through a similar phase. S80 and Buried Alive Interlude had me hyped. Club Paradise tour and GKMC had me thinking he was going to be on par with Drake and we were about to see 2 leaders working together in the this gen. His feature run wasn't the best tho the cracks already started to show when he worked with people like Lonely Island and Imagine Dragons. By 2015 there was a lot more competition and Kendrick couldn't keep up
Like you said, when there was a drought in the blog era he seemed great but when the blog but soon as the soundcloud gen came through he wasn't really adapting or evolving in any meaningful way. Why stick with him when we had plenty rappers like Thug coming out with Slim trilogy and Barter 6 or Future with his trilogy and DS2? He kinda came back imo in 17-18 tho but lost the spark after that
