the excuses for these songs flopping will be 1. “everyone already heard them from the website”, despite no one besides die hard fans downloading them and most casual fans not even knowing that website existed
and 2. “drake didn’t promote them”, despite them getting top billing on all the major playlists on spotify and AM
the excuses are gonna keep rolling in when the PND collab flops too, can’t wait

why does downloading matter? most ppl still heard it regardless so that massively decreases the streams
but drake literally didnt promote it? a lot of his casual listeners arent lurking the major playlists to see if he dropped
nobody knew it would drop on a saturday or at all for that matter

does hearing a song for a few days outside of DSPs really massively decrease streams? especially if most people didn’t download it anyway
and the songs have the top spots on the biggest playlists, does an IG story make that much of a difference?
when the PND collab inevitably flops it’ll be “nobody listens to drake for rnb”

It was final fantasy
40’s story about how he was gadgets sidekick to then having gadget mix the motto insane timeline
Are the losers happy it is on DSPs now?

I know you're trolling but I'll humour you and tell you that how you release a song matters a lot, actually, if only for momentum purposes.
I'll give you a good example: The Hillbillies. The song initially dropped as a music video on YouTube on May 30, 2023 and didn't get put on DSPs until June 5, 2023. It ended up being the worst-performing collab by Kendrick and Baby Keem (it peaked at #93 on the Hot 100). The other Kendrick/Baby Keem collabs which were released the right way? (Family Matters - peaked at #18, Range Brothers - peaked at #53 (both collabs on Baby Keem's album but Family Matters ended up being the fan favorite so it performed better), Savior - peaked at #15).
This is similar to how Drake completely butchered the release of Push Ups. He made it available for free download for 6 days before eventually putting it up on DSPs. If it'd dropped directly on DSPs, it'd have debuted in the top 10 and performed a lot better just off momentum.
All the things you listed are the exact reason why the songs won't have a strong start on streaming and by extension, the charts. Of course, that could always change, depending on how quickly casual listeners learn about the songs being available on DSPs and how much they eventually support the songs. That part is still left to be seen.
As for the forthcoming collab R&B album with PND, that ain't even an excuse. You can go back as far as Nothing Was the Same and view how every R&B song off every Drake project has performed in comparison to the rap songs: they always perform the worst, even though they usually end up being the fan favorites. Up till as recently as For All the Dogs. Slime You Out only performed as well as it did because it was released as a single initially but every other song that reached the top 10 was a rap song, even though most people would tell you that the best songs on that album were the R&B songs.
Personally, I think it doesn't matter how the album performs. People will push whatever narratives they want regarding Drake, that's just where he is at this point in his career. I only care about the album being as good as it can possibly be. I'll save whatever commercial expectations I have for the next Drake rap album.
