there's two kinda distinct sounds that hyperpop.jp associated w. one is fruity arp heavy layered production full of complex and organic sounding vsts. the other is more wavetable heavy minimalist vst production. both are similar sounds but there's def a line u can draw.

I'm willing to bet carti is the reason hyperpop.jp cultivated that second sound, he was asking jetson n richie souf for that s*** for a minute. the guy knows brandonfinessin (probably thru uzi but that's from like way before EA), it's not far fetched to think he had a direct connection w the team before EA.

i think it's a much more reasonable conclusion that the opium guys got their production thru the carti connection, i doubt uzi had much influence at all w that
