You don't think A Seat at the Table is a classic?

first two albums after that nah
i guess it is
There are so many great, recent r&b albums. I just disagree that r&b is anywhere close to dead.

Do you just not listen to a lot of r&b? I really don't believe that out of all of the r&b albums that have come out in the past decade, the only one that stands out to you is Late Nights.
I was listening to Right Now earlier and wanted to post an appreciation thread for PND 1, good job OP

it’s the only classic r&b album since then. anything else that’s good is usually a lot less popular. what other mainstream r&b album since i’m meant to care about since 2012. trapsoul? trash. 6lack or brent faiyaz? trash. freudian? trash.

It's not a classic r&b album. It's also not what I would consider mainstream. Why are you purposely choosing artists and albums that are commonly viewed as bad to mediocre for "proof"?

especially 2. Thirsty is peak music. Like if aliens came to earth and was like “what is music?” i would play them Thirsty and make them contemplate their whole existence
