Increase the salaries for cops. Make it mandatory that they at least have a bachelors degree (only 30% of cops have one)
It should be 4 years of higher education minimum plus at least 6 months to a year of heavily reformed police academy/orientation.
One of the biggest problems outside of training is that the majority of police are just uneducated losers who barely got through high school
higher salaries = better employees
i dont think u need to require college tho maybe associates at most

only 30% of cops have a bachelor's???
that's a WILD statistic. :word:
Fam where do you live where 100k is just middle class?
100k after tax in NYC is 71k. If you want to live in Manhattan then your rent is gonna be close to 30k a year on the low end
100k doesn’t get you much in the top cities in America
I bet the cop got off not on just doing this to a black man but a black soldier
yep it’s a show of power and force
Come from an affluent family?
if u consider 100k upper middle class then yes
100k not upper middle class imo.
I guess when u add all the benefits and housing maybe
I deleted my first post but, 100k is definitely upper middle class when you have free housing, don’t have to pay for insurance outside of car
Also as a military dude if you’re married you get even more money in BAH if you live off post.
Also how much BAH you get is adjusted for the COL where you’re at so you can afford to live
It’s honestly disgusting reading the replies under the tweet justifying every single action just because it’s a police officer. It’s crazy to me how for some reason people believe that a group of people (police/law enforcement) with relatively minimal training and are humans like every other employment line are not subject to make mistakes. Sometimes it makes me angry but more often it just makes me sad
the U.S military actually has proper rules of engagement and somewhat strict enforcement with drastic penalties
cops have pretty much none of this and can get away with lots of s***
You have a poor grasp of the value of money if you’re saying $100k is middle class.

for sure. military is a great way for class mobility. but you cant have asthma and u have to be fit. so not everyone can do it
Kinda shocked.
Most cops tend to respect the military.
Not black servicemen
Not black servicemen
they have an entire history of doing s*** to black servicemen
18 years of age
@Wonderful you’re talking to a literal child

They really need to check their union first and foremost. Any kind of reform is an uphill right off the bat because it’s resisted by the unions every step of the way.
