See, this is why todays generation is dumb as f***. And I'm part of it.

The combined net worth of the 400 richest people in the US is around 3 trillion dollars.

Such a plan that Sanders and Warren are proposing would need at least 30 trillion dollars within the first 10 years.

So even if you taxed the "rich" 100% you'd be able to pay 10% of the cost. But they wont tax them because they can just offshore the company if they want to which, in that scenario, would be the obvious thing to do.

So we now know taxing the rich aint gonna work. So who do you logically tax then? The average american. So the taxes would skyrocket but ya'll dont get that. You think that "free" actually means free.

Combine that with the fact that those plans that both of them proposed implies that you cant keep your private insurance which then would make private insurance companies dedicated to healtcare go bankrupt which would leave between 700k to 1.2m people without a job.

    But yeah. Ya'll don't care.

Bernie has said repeatedly that he will increase taxes on everyone, including the middle and working class. We know this already.

The difference is that everyone’s net cost of healthcare will decrease. Even if a working class person has to pay more in taxes they will save by not having to pay for premiums, co-payments or deductibles. Plus they will not have to go bankrupt for any medical reason.

Your logic is flawed in this regard. We know we have to pay for it. The question is who are we paying and what are we getting for our money. Insurance companies charge you a private tax and work overtime to reduce your benefits. So you have to pay thousands a year to simply have the insurance PLUS more money to simply be seen by a doctor, more money to pay for certain testing or treatments, PLUS you are screwed if you really get sick, requiring an ER visit or a hospitalization. This doesn’t even include the hiked up prices they charge us for prescription d****.

Also Bernie has discussed a transition plan to get those people working in private health insurance to work for Medicare essentially. They would become government employees (which I know rubs some people the wrong way) but they would make the same amount of money and probably get better benefits. I'm not naive enough to think every single person would get a job or be happy with the transition but his plan does look out for these people as much as possible.

He was the mayor of NYC and is one of the richest people in the world. If he took sweeping action he could’ve filled the empty 5th avenue apartments with people who needed them.

They freeze outside every day in the winter and the shelters seem to be ineffective and filled with too many people who need to be in mental asylums. Thats another thing, asylums should be reopened but not in a negative sense but to help those who are too far gone.

A lot of the homeless people i meet are just unemployed and cant afford the cost of living. Dont have family either. Really consistent bad strokes of luck that put them in that position

Like i said it depends on the person. Half of them could be in mental institutions while the other half probably lost their jobs and have no family.

Whats the point of having empty apartments people dont use when theres people who need them more?

You realize they price gouge nearly every aspect of Healthcare, just like with schools and higher education.
