Idk man. The first half of UTILITY is the best stuff here and where my ears were perked up. Earl got the more interesting production, and he just sounds better. But overall this just kinda fell into the background of what I was doing. My favorite MIKE project is still Burning Desire.

Burning Desire is probably my favorite rap record of the 2020s tbh wish he would get back in that direction. That really felt like him progressing as an artist while everything since has either been business as usual or a regression imo.

Burning Desire is such a great album
i see a lot of people wish that he'd use the type of delivery from those songs on this album and thats fair, i love those songs too, and theres a lot of "awake" moments like that on here too, tour de france, :)again, ew!
i feel like it just comes down to whether or not youre a fan of the lucki/veeze/niontay laidback delivery, and if you think earl pulls it off well, and both work for me so i love this album, i get it though
idk I get that argument but at the same time Niontay has arguably the most lucid verse on the whole project
I do think when it works Earl can do this style really well - this2shallpass & again sound like something fresh out of peak form Lucki, like freewave3 era s***. Just feels like most of these tracks Earl doesn't bring the sort of charisma that Lucki/Veeze/Niontay always have even on their most laid back songs

rectangle lens does what you talked about in the second paragraph the best imo
peak lucki would eat that beat
Because LLL the nigga was awake lmao thats why it aint sound that different silly
He did a bunch of songs that were not on LLL on tour tho? Lol
I just been running the whole thing on shuffle man i can’t stop listening
Pompeii name meaning really makes so much sense it comes across so well in the music…just slowed frozen burnt fried tf out smoked tf out in the best way
I want to like Earl more than I do but idk why he doesn’t click for me all the time

same, i like all his albums but i f*** with MIKE discography so much more. But this one is too much, so much music this year and I dont have enough time and focus on this long ass minimalistic project
i love most of the earl side
the beats on here are so fire and hypnotic
i do think the sleepy delivery is a little bit of a turn off (in some cases) tho
random comparison but the atmosphere here reminds me a little of a new place 2 drown by archy marshall lol
dont surprise me that fantano doesn't f*** with this, that's expected from someone that didn't even review luckis prime albums
I'm glad I was tapped into this guy's stuff when he was at his best. Those loosies after I don't like s*** were sick and then he finally tops it off with some rap songs. Lil bro has been ass since
