I'm mixed and my ma is Irish/Italian but learned how to bunch of cook soul food from my black gma when she was like 17 for a few years back in Bayarea CA

But just like my grandma on that side... She picked up the habit of never writing down how to actually make the food and it's "all about feeling and just doing" and then never explaining s*** unless you're actually there in person
