Losing Juice, Pop smoke and X is honestly like the NBA losing 3 upcoming superstar players
Like imagine if Luka, Tatum and Devin Booker didn’t exist anymore.
Juice and X weren’t on Pop’s level quality wise
XXX death still s***ty to me. I know he not the focus of this thread but he was literally the face of that 2016/2017 generation along with Carti and Uzi
usually these threads are massive reaching but have to agree on this one.
Pop Smoke was on track to demolish the hiphop market
Yeah I always thought people reacted to his death like he was an X or Juice Wrld artist he had a great and long career so no disrespect but he wasn't going to be a superstar. It made people check his stuff out and appreciate it tho so
I don’t get this narrative there’s a reason why the songs off his post album stuck, only thing I can think of is that it would’ve taken longer for him to get at the same spot, but he was gonna pop
Y’all need to stop acting like NY ain’t got the influence to push an artist, and he was finna get pushed

He was the leader of his class, he was selling before he died and he would be on a whole other level by now, is crazy to see how his career would’ve panned out with the whole legal s*** he had going on
I agree
A deep voice and masculine energy is what the mainstream needed and still needs, a lot of soy boys pussies nowdays smh
yup

I didn’t see all of that, but I hate we got robbed of another young talent. I would’ve loved to have been proven wrong. RIP
This is a reach. I love pop but I can’t let nostalgia and death blind reality. He was still a niche artist that was slowly coming to mainstream due to Travis and quavo co signs. Welcome 2 The Party was song of the summer 2019 tho in NY

If he avoided jail time for that case and avoided acting up he would have took the f*** off in terms of success. He had everything going for him career wise aside from that legal drama.

Voice and energy is a lot more important than most think when it comes to wide spread appeal. Those were his strong points. He had IT. Not to mention the versatility. I’ve never been so sure in my life about an artist. No nostalgia
It would have taken him like 3 years to even be a star that new york drill sound isnt really working. I like pop but yall gassing this dude up. He wasnt a superstar in the making without 50 helping with his album. Pop was 50 before dre.
Juice and xxx were legit stars before death. It was like when pac and biggie died

And drake wasn’t going that far without Wayne
Getting some help doesn’t take away from his superst.ardom
Aside from that, I think I was eventually going to move away from the drill sound if his debut was any sign of what was to come. Like I said, one of his strong points was versatility.

Cosigns matter in rap. So yes wayne helped drake get more fans. That's entirely different than having a team around you to make your project better lol. If pop was alive right now, he wouldnt be a star
He was gonna be a star
DRAKE LEVEL
he was everything mainstream hip hop was missing packed into one artist. He could have bridged the gap between that old school and new school s***. Amazing voice, beats that knock, Typa s*** you couldn’t resist moving to. So much energy, Effortless swagger, none of that forced s***. He really restored the feeling
I miss him
he def wasnt gonna be a star lmao. if he aint die he would be a rich the kid at most
