The art doesn't come first. People are subjected to a condition and make art out of it. Rappers constantly talk about their music being a way out of that life. I can't even think of a street rapper who doesn't constantly talk about their dead friends. The consequences are laid bare in the music as well as the headlines.
Treating material conditions with consumer choice doesn't work. Doing Tipper Gore parental advisory s*** to protect the kids doesn't work. Exposing people to this music is a good thing. Should there be a wider context? Like the discourse we're having in this thread? Sure. Insulating communities and cultures is how you breed bigotry.
it all ties together
the idea that you have to be the hardest/toughest and the music promoting that and anything going against that directly impacting your brand makes niggas get on social media and act ridiculous and contributes to an overall mentality of niggas building themselves up to be virtually superheroes until some super foul s*** like this happens and brings you back to Earth
yes there are socioeconomic factors that keeps a lot of this s*** going but a lot of this bullshit we as a culture CHOOSE especially post 1990-2000
Niggas love a big stepper until they s*** get stepped on lol now its stop the violence it's the white man fault lol
Culture needs a collective moment where they firmly decide if we like demon s*** or we don't like demon s***.
gotta be some very sick people to do some s*** like that to innocent individuals.
Not saying they or Brazy deserves this but again we can't say s*** like this and ignore how he contributed to someone else's peoples getting hit in that video up there
We celebrate the demon until the demon gets some demon s*** done to him
Same niggas talmbout RIP will be in the next pooh shiesty thread sayin its a banger when the song ain't about s*** but shooting niggas

lmaooo
white kids on ktt2 will ignore this but post threads hyping up asian kids saying the n word and promoting street life as usual
what do you want people to say about a rapper no one has ever heard of having a tragedy
it all ties together

The thing about this is that demonic s*** is not the product of the culture or even the music. You're tryna tackle an issue that stems from a greater problem. You gotta cut off the head of the snake in order for s*** to really change or this issues gonna pop up again, again and again.
Cause what happens when you get rid of the consumer and social media aspects of this type of music. This demonic s*** is still 100% going to go on, you're just not going to notice it as much. But trust that s*** will still go on. Even without the social media aspect of bruised egos and reputation. A lot of the f*** s*** that goes on in the streets isn't even done by the street rappers most of the times it's done by regular street niggas.
But at least with street music, its voicing issues that goes on in an area to a wider and broader audience that probably wouldn't even hear it any other way, and it also provides a source of income to people who are at most times felons and can't get a job.
Which is why I dont get where this accountability comes into play
First thread I clicked of yours you were cooning it up bout your place of employment I already know what typa time you own boy just remove that avy and tap dance away skidaddle

Here’s the thing about what you just said, a lot of people don’t give a f*** about the problem that’s going on.
It’s entertainment to them dawg. Niggas talking about smoking packs of dead dudes, gang beefs, people dying, all entertainment. Yeah they’ll get their “rip” in but the moment someone who truly cares speaks up they get ostracized.
Black people have cared about this s*** forever. You know how many city hall meetings are held in cities about black gang violence every year and trying to reduce it? Too many to count. A lotta black folks know there’s a problem in the culture and trying to solve it but it’s damn near impossible to get through to a lot of these too far gone dumb niggas or black people who just don’t give a f***.
s*** crazy. apparently they made him watch on facetime
There's a pic of him watching it on facetime that's circling on Twitter now

You're 100% right a lot of people do not give a f*** about the problems at all. That smoking on so and so being said by people not even in the hood, just random fans. YouTubers portraying the streets as if it's some tv series. A lot of people don't give a f*** and that's a problem I'm not taking anything away from that.
But what I'm saying is you can get rid of all street music off the face of the earth today and this same type of s*** will literally go on in the streets. Street music is just a branch of the problem along with gang violence. The only way we're going to get rid of this type of s*** from happening is by attacking the root of the problem which is the socioeconomic factors that puts niggas in the streets in the first place where they feel like they have to make this music to make a profit.
That's what I mean where I dont see where accountability falls in, street music is a double edge sword cause you got white fetishizing this culture on one side but you also got niggas who may have been felons making money in a way they never would of if they didnt.
RIP tho.
Had this happen to several people I know.
Doesn't matter if they can't get to you, they getting to someone else.

Who the f*** takes a picture of that

On some real s***. Whenever these dudes be on some RIP s*** whenever a street rapper gets killed. It doesn’t even be genuine half the time. They only feel bad because that particular rapper entertained them and he’s no longer here.
They’re gonna be in the next thread praising the next nigga who’s talking about shooting this guy, smoking on this guy, choosing sides in a gang war they have no part in, etc etc.
