You don’t have to discredit the influence of an artist you claim to be a fan of by comparing their entire existence to the quality of Drake’s second best album to enjoy the music either
Whats Earl's influence in hip hop serious question?

You don't have to inject your personal opinions (I agree with too NWTS>) to try and change reality on kanye west forums
the whole second part
A drake stan posted a quote from Emotionless earlier in this thread to address me. I’m sure you probably haven’t heard it lately but in the quote, drake explains that he is so bothered by opinions on the internet that he actively searches through underaged people’s profiles as a way to make himself feel better. So since I’m being called a weirdo for admittedly being a forum dweller who can be a hater at times, I was curious as to how drake stans feel about drake’s behavior, which is a lot weirder than posting negative takes about music, especially given his money and fame. At least if I was rich I wouldn’t be hating, this dude has everything and still sits in his mansion fuming at teenagers

You right. Imagine posting opinions on a hip-hop forum
What a random comparison lol but anyone not picking Drake we probably don’t have much in common 🤷🏽♂️

Idk enough about undeground hh to speak on it. You're saying he's a big influence in the underground scene?
@dat_guy You real quiet about this
Man said lemme join drake bots and dipped

Exactly. Slums is largely influenced by Earl in terms of production and lyricism/flow. I’m definitely not arguing that he hasn’t had a “larger” influence than Drake, but it’s kind of reductive to just compare the range of influence rather than also considering the quality of the music.

how you be in every single drake thread posting angry paragraphs
People will say Earl is for "white hipsters" but Drake is for white soccer moms and white private school kids who pay $30 a gram
how you be in every single drake thread posting angry paragraphs
Maybe you read it with anger in your heart so you read it as angry? I couldn’t have been calmer typing that lol, reading it back it seems very measured and dry to me, more information than emotion.
@dat_guy You real quiet about this
I'm not, Drake stans got sensitive when I said this
And now are looking for dirt in my accounts and all they could do was put this comment out of context.

Wtf should I say other than they really dedicated lol
Wtf
Rap landscape without drake would be GOAT, he was brought in by the labels to end the rap renaissance of 08-09
This is all facts

Quality will always be subjective. You can never deny Impact, Influence, Numbers. Theres levels to this rap s*** and Earl regardless of how you feel about his music he's not even close to Drake, Cole Kendrick tier. Thats why this comparison is disrespectful

Hip hop was never based on numbers tho. Illmatic just went platinum like last week. It’s something that has eroded over the years as hip hop became more mainstream but there was always more to being the best in hip hop than having the catchiest meme for kids
