I agree that slowed + reverb isn't chopped and screwed, and personally, I think tryna associate it with chopped and screwed is an insult to chopped and screwed music itself honestly. Now it's some slowed + reverb s*** I like, but my issue with it is just how f***in lazy the s*** is.

Like I said, people was doing this back in the late 2000s with s*** like Audacity, or simply playing with the equalizer and playback settings in Windows Media Player. That's forreal all it is. Tryna call it a whole sub-genre is laughable.

This reminds me of when vaporwave started becoming a thing. Only difference is that vaporwave was surprisingly more creative and made with more effort than slowed + reverb. And people were forreal making that s*** as an ironic and not serious meme. People making vaporwave even did the same thing of playing the songs with looping video clips of obscure anime or Japanese commercials. S*** got so big they tried to attach some goofy "It's a critique on capitalism" a***ysis to it

I can see the inspiration but again, it’s not entirely the same.

There’s a huge emphasis on reverb as well as a specific type of visual accompanying it.

If he pays homage and credits where his influence comes from, idk what’s exactly wrong with his stance.
