The beat on METHODS is hard
really like this so far, feels like he's leaning more into the stream-of-consciousness lyrics on the first few tracks than LTST

methods and town crier are phewwwwwwwww
I feel you. I’m in the same boat
I just don’t know if I’m a big Mavi fan. Idk. I know he’s dope and I love what he’s doing, but I’m like meh when I listen to him
not sold on him either even though it feels like I should like his music more

This exactly
not sold on him either even though it feels like I should like his music more
damn you and @marcusg didn't like LTST either? that's already a bonafide classic in my book. EP isn't quite hitting me like Sun yet but I rly like it too
This exactly how I feel like I just find artists like MIKE and navy more interesting
what dont you find interesting about mavi? i feel like hes more interesting than navy in like everyway not really talking about quality cause thats more subjective. but i feel like mavi just does more with like more advanced beats (this ep was more straightforward tho), his flow is just crazy with denser rhymes, more concise and diverse songs, subject matter, and more versatile too
s*** im prolly saying too much but shango out soon
not sold on him either even though it feels like I should like his music more
idk if you heard this already but someone said this mavi lerado collab got zaywop energy before lol

I like it but wasn’t crazy about it. Been planning on revisiting it soon tho.

highly recommend that, to me I immediately liked it but was surprised how much it still grew on me with repeated listens. At this point def a top 5 rap album of the past 2 years for me tbh, basically flawless

love his energy in his music, but for some reason I never find myself interested in revisiting it

You shouldn't judge too early, most of his releases are big growers to me.
This EP included just had it on repeat all morning, starting to really love it, def among my fav projects oty at this point already.
His raps are usually very subtly melodic, that's always what eventually addicts me.

I mean I’ve thought that about Mavi since LTST... I appreciate his passion and rhyming, but idk why I don’t enjoy listening to his music lmao
Ima give it another shot tho
Okay hold up—Ghost, Chiasma, Guernica, Omavi and Moonfire
Maybe I spoke too soon @beflygelt

Be sure to check out some of his pre-LTST loosies too if you havent. E.g: Squashmatch, Harriet, Wise Fool (on youtube), Willpower, One Foot. Still some of his best work imo.

I'm saying
Ghost verse is crazy, generally don't think there's any misses on that album
