Idk what was wrong with my head but this sounded like some bullshit the first time I heard it
The more I listened the whispery delivery grew on me hard, I started to really catch a lot more of what he’s saying, how his rhymes mold into each other in surprising ways. This is the most an album has ever grown on me and it’s my AOTY now
wouldn’t say hated but was definitely a grower
thought this (and everything else they did ) was booty juice until i relistened and they became my goats
It was almost 10 years ago and I have no idea why but I remember really disliking PARTYNEXTDOOR when I first heard it. It's in my top 10 now.
for whatever reason i just did not like this album, but as i grew older i truly appreciated how amazing it really is
For some reason I remember not liking without warning the first time i heard it. Not sure what i was smoking
I honestly still don’t give that much of a s*** about “Whip It” so I could not tell you why I felt so compelled to hear this band’s earlier, purportedly more “punk” material, but I bought this when I was 15 sound unheard and spent a solid week not digging it at all. “Uncontrollable Urge” was okay but the rest of it was too weird to my ears, and definitely not distorted enough for my edgy little ass. But once “Space Junk” and “Shrivel Up” clicked, it became and has remained one of my favorite albums of all time. It is damn near unreasonable to not like Devo.
Yeezus
To Pimp a Butterfly. I remember that album getting meme'd to death on social media at midnight. Took me 3 or 4 listens to appreciate it. Had to learn not to fault an album for not being what I was expecting
