besides them solidly being recommended for immunocompromised people and knowing vaccine efficacy wanes over time, I haven't heard anything solid about boosters so I'm a bit confused

I'm only four months out from my second shot so I don't think I need to be thinking about this yet but is there anything else I should know besides what I stated about when I should be thinking about a booster?
