Like it’s not even like he’s an MC at heart and started making pop music. nigga just came in appropriating the culture, blew up and went full pop with the occasional rap features or trap inspired drums.

but you niggas are weird and out of your mind for trying to force him into a hip-hop conversation solely for the purpose of taking the spotlight off black artists...

how many black people you know that listen to him?

how many people that are really in this culture and TRULY understand it (not started listening after her is dropped) will even agree that he’s apart of hip-hop?

can you even tell me what would make you say he’s apart of hip-hop culture? quickly

    Another feature

Post features all flop so I can see why you don't want to mention them, but it's a great metric. It shows that even when Drake isn't even the main artist on a song his fans and hiphop listeners at large are still anxious to hear his contributions.

This doesn’t mean s*** Post is a newer artist why would he have songs from the 2000s dude

Staying power is a quantitative metric that shows the loyalty of a fanbase overtime.

If Drake only made songs like Hotline Bling, Take Care, Feel No Ways, and etc., then you could compare him and Drake. Drake actually SPITS. That nigga pop and hip hop. Post straight up pop

he absolutely is that big in pop music. he's on the radio constantly. he has higher streaming numbers than most pop artists.
taylor swift is #25, shawn mendes #18, ariana grande #21, maroon 5 #13, etc. i can't think of any other big mainstream pop acts but odds are if they aren't ed sheeran, post is bigger than them. i looked up "pop artists" to try and find more artists to compare him to and post was literally the first result.

at least you f*** w post though and know we need some more august 26 vibes

The first video is a DIY Rap Show he performed in Dallas in 2015, which featured appearances from Key! and Carti.

Why isn’t that considered Hip Hop?

His numbers aren't that impressive, he's right around Drake and Ed despite having a recently released body of work. Spotify is also more pop compared Apple's hiphop leaning streaming service.

I guess Ed Sheeran is hip hop too huh? Since he f***s with the culture and has songs with rappers. Plus, this nigga had pretty much abandoned Key!, fki, and all the others that helped him come up. He doesn’t make this type of music anymore bruh

Post has made and performed Rap music, Ed Sheeran has not.

Stormzy considers Ed Sheeran a Grime artist, though. We’re not gatekeepers in the UK. We’re happily multicultural, remember?

EDIT: If the next album is all Rap with FKI, what will you say?

I’m not opposed to being multicultural, but don’t say a white guy who makes pop is the biggest “hip-hop” act right now. Pitbull raps but nobody considers him “hip-hop”. His music is mostly dedicated towards a certain audience and that’s ok.

If it starts rapping and making hip hop from here on out and maintains his success, that’ll be impressive. It won’t happen though
