They probably didn't believe in his staying power and were just milking the f*** out of him. Look at how big Sunflower, Goodbyes and Circles were. For them it paid off

Yeah. The label knew its his last album under his contract and he waited for over 2 years. Pretty sure the label was very insecure (and later gave a f*** about the promotion also)
