He is his own lane but imo he just isn’t good like that. He’s aesthetic, vision, hype but not much on actually saying something. Coffee bean was good but his production carries him.

    Bean and apple pie >

But still not top 2000 songs

Anyone who was into HH when Acid Rap came out knows that like a quintessential classic. Up there with Reason to Die, CD, MBDTF, Blueprint, etc.

    "a quintessential classic" how?
where's its innovation? its fingerprint on the zeitgeist? because it's not a thoroughly excellent collection of work like those albums you mentioned. also, blueprint overrated as f***. tied for top 5 jay

also, "Reason to Die"? The Ghostface album? or do you mean Ready to Die lol?

s*** i meant ready to die lol.

And not even tryna be edgy, but how old are you?
Because literally everybody I know around my age (22) that heard Acid Rap when it came out would never argue its classic status. Everybody loved that s***.

The way that Chance bascially innovated a really zany off-the-wall delivery that was super poppy but at the same time could go super hard or super tender was unlike anything in the mainstream before it. Of course rappers had been having unique delivers before, but literally everybody was bumpin that s*** when i came out and it was catchy as f***. At the same time the whole project had this balanced fun-loving youthfulness with meditative thoughtfulness. Second half of Pusha-man for example truly affected me when I was like 15 or whenever that s*** came out
