Thanks man, needed this insight. Will check out
you can also peep Netflix & Deal by 03 Greedo, personally I’m just not a fan of 03G, but a lot of people enjoy that project
Also Freddie by Freddie Gibbs, underrated one imo, got some hard beats from Kenny too
They both put out the blueprint
Tbh the blueprint was organically cooked together by different Memphis producers of that time (can’t forget underground legends like Blackout) but Juicy & Paul managed to get the most out of it and bring it to another level

M-Town had its own little movement in the 90s that has aged like wine. Tommy Wright III, Blackout, DJ Zirk, DJ Paul, Juicy J, DJ Sound, Crucifix, DJ Squeaky, DJ Spanish Fly, MC Mack, etc, all gas

Not only does it sound fresh, but some of it is still ahead of what's coming out today. The original "Easily Executed" by Juicy J and Project Pat is legit the only song that sounds like it, I'll post it itt for those unfamiliar. It's a legit song progression, beyond just being a beat switch, into this unreal instrumental section at the end. Never heard anything like it.
Juicy flexed like a mf on this damn tape
