Idk on my last fm drake and kendrick are at 4.5k plays balance in all things
I dig the avi btw
We will never see another rap battle like dot vs drake ever again in my opinion.
I'm with ya.
I think labels in general don't want another Drake or Taylor type stardom. I think they have too much power that make labels feel uncomfortable. That's why using Spotify to manipulate the algorithm doesn't seem so far-fetched to me.
I understand they generate a lot of money, but if Taylor or Drake were to drop from a streaming platform, their listeners would follow.
He saying his affiliation like he just walked into gang territory
Dots Thot's in the other thread smokin opp packs like it's rly the trenches
I think one of the more underdiscussed parts of this entire situation is that there's a big chance that Drake goes independent. I think he's suing UMG for strictly $$$ owed to him as damage for the economic harm caused by them not halting the NLU record, and the blatant targeted (and sophisticated in nature style of) attack on his character.
After he wins that bread, whether it be trial or settlement, I doubt he'll sign with UMG again or any label. That boy GONE. Independent route; and with the $$$ he could win, he'd probably not even need UMG's distro either - he'll handle everything on his own. If 2024 was the teaser, main movie soon forward in 2025.

The thing with going independent especially as Drake there are just so many logistical things he has to worry about.
We saw it with 100gigs with samples not being cleared or artists pulling off tracks. That doesn't even get into the logistics of touring. I get labels are machines but they are still machines that handle little s*** so the artist can focus on music.
He very well could be going independent, but I would be shocked if he signed with UMG again. I'm curious what Sony or Warner would offer him.

Damn I didnβt even think about it this way. Labels wanting their artists to get big but not too big is actually a extremely plausible argument

yes, the hawala money from umg didn't hit Spotify's streaming farms in both Albania and Philippines on day 1 hence the performance jump (absolutely NOT sus at all btw)
The posts in that thread were next level moronic too
Oh I read through it
They actually thought Dot was selling 600K first week

hold on, i thought numbers don't matter since the first streaming numbers came out - they do matter again?
hard to keep up these days tbh
happy american thanksgiving to most of yall!

The metrics that matter at any given time are only the metrics that people think Drake might be able to be beaten in
