Am I the only one not worried at all about Iceman being a great Album. With Drake albums, i always think of that Omar quote "Even if I miss, I can't miss". I disliked clb and fatd at first and now can't stop playing them

i was never worried abt CLB, whole era felt amazing. Leaks, snippets and the trailer video were great rollout material, LNCL was also an amazing lead single (im still mad it’s not on the album, 10/10 single). On release day i was slightly diasppointed about a few tweaks like adding that jay z verse instead of keeping the need me outro to love all but that s*** was always a great album to me.

FATD had me worried ngl, rollout was nonexistent, scan the dogs daily had me in a chokehold and that single w sza fell super short of expectations. Album did not end up being a good body of work - who wouldve thought. The hard hitting rap songs felt forced/rushed, just not well put together; id call Fear of heights and Daylight his worst hype rap tracks ever - personally also never warmed up to IDGAF. Other songs like Amen, Gently and Calling for you (that baby m voicenote just f***s it up) just arent good enough for Drakes level. The interludes are the tupac of ass, have never listened to BBL love and Screw the world (what was the point of this?) besides first listen. Theres a few highs for sure but this album just sucks overall. 8am in charlotte is his weakest timestamp track too, does not reserve this title at all.

But that iceman instrumental preview man… made me forget abt it all, he is truly back! $$$4U was amazing music aswell even though some of the solo drake tracks were not needed. I believe hes able of delivering an amazing project if he doesnt say f*** it last second and puts random bullshit on this.

bro idek why 8am isnt hitting for me, it feels like him giving in on the critiques to me and just sounds boring. Stark contrast are the scary hours 3 songs, he sounds sharper on all of em.

yes the start of the album ruins it every time for me, amen to daylight are all skips - i sometimes enjoy calling for you but have to skip the interlude almost everytime i do smh. I love FPS but IDGAF ruins that almost immediately.

besides the songs you mentioned its basically just members only left that didnt click for me, feel like they outdid that on $$$4U with EVERY collab song

Dang a long of those songs have grown on me. Its lowkey better to forget you're listening to Drake because that otherwise sets a very high expectation when it comes to lyricism.

He was more focused on making fun songs. Scary hours is him reminding eveyone he can still rap at a high level
