yeah I didn’t see they were talking bout Fatd. Btw I really like that album
But the last 2 been duds imo
Fair enough.
People are just stuck in their favorites eras imo. For me it’s the iyrtitl/views/more life era. Feel like those albums had more artistic direction and were in tune with and influenced the current music trends of that time. FATD is still a great album and it did just that (following the trends of that time) yeat influence, cash Cobain, sexy redd I hear it all problem is just music sucks right now period and I blame TikTok and greedy major labels as well as the microwave music era
One of the best things I've learned to do with regards to Drake's music is to stop projecting my own expectations into what he should do and accept whatever he drops for what it is.
I've moved on from thinking I should like every single song he drops. Dude is 2 decades in at this point. He's close to retirement with each year that passes. He drops an album, I go through it, pick out the songs I like (hopefully, as many songs as possible), ditch the ones I don't like and keep it moving.

That’s a healthy mindset lol
And I agree completely. Give the full album a listen, save your favorite songs to a playlist and keep it moving.
If he kept making the same album over and over again we would all be criticizing that.
IMO if you’re truly a Drake fan FATD would not good album by Drake standards. About 2-3 solid tracks but that’s about it. He’s just borrowing other people sounds on that album way too much (cash cobain, yachty, yeat)
Said no drake fan ever
People in here really concerned about his pen continue to make me laugh.
every body is worrying about what his pen is doing

don’t have nothing to say but ima laugh😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Need Tower cdq. Pressa was not needed whatsoever though. Def should be a solo.
I’ve listened to the track 100 times now and pressa killed it. Still shouldn’t make the album tho
You're certainly entitled to your opinions about For All the Dogs but by any standard, it's a very good album lol.
The standard version of the album has 23 songs. Only 1 song, Another Late Night, has any sort of Lil Yachty influence, IDGAF is certainly Yeat-influenced and Calling for You is Cash Cobain-influenced. That's it.
Saying "He’s just borrowing other people sounds on that album way too much" is very disingenuous because outside of those 3 songs, every other song sounds like a song Drake would make lol. So, that's 3 out of 23 songs on the album that have a clear influence outside of Drake's usual stuff and 3 out of 29 songs if you consider the Scary Hours version of the album.
I don't know what standards you've used to judge Drake's music over the past 15 years but songs like Virginia Beach, First Person Shooter, Slime You Out, Bahamas Promises, Tried Our Best, Drew a Picasso, Members Only, All the Parties 8AM in Charlotte, Rich Baby Daddy, Away from Home & Polar Opposite are all very good to great Drake songs. And as for the 6 added songs on the Scary Hours version of the album, they're all good as well.
You don't have to agree, of course and I personally don't rank For All the Dogs that high in Drake's catalog but it's not because it's a bad album. He just has even better albums (which have had a deeper impact on me) and so I'll naturally have them rank higher.
its not a bad album but by drake standards its his worst solo project. All the songs you listed i would say about 3-4 are worth it to be on a drake album.
not counting scary hours
I don't have a problem with FATD its a decent album that hes just experimenting on, but it looks like hes not stopping with experimenting which is my problem.

You always dismiss other people’s takes by calling them opinions, but then you give your opinion and present it as factual evidence

if he stops experimenting, the critics will say he's just releasing the same boring rap album. the goal post will always move so lets just wait till the album is out and then judge
