Jay is pushing 60 and isn't much of a streaming titan esp. with the Tidal releases he had.

He sold more physical CDs than any rapper not named Eminem though.

Still surprising tho. With wtt and some blueprints hits I would expect him to be here

He wasn't even averaging 50M daily streams last year before the beef lol. His catalog has seen yet another resurgence this year.

    That’s actually crazy

Jay Z has one of the worst catalogs in terms of recurrent consumption activity in hip-hop. He has 14 #1s but each and every one of them has charted poorly. Eminem is his peer and they debuted around the same time but Eminem's catalog is way more massive when it comes to how many people still stream and generally consume his music.

Eminem is white and exclusively appeals to the “I don’t like rap but I like Eminem” crowd

Joey should've dropped a lead single named after his last album featuring Drake lol.

I mean kinda, but he also dropped a brand new album and numerous singles this year

The 50M isn’t exactly out of nowhere

He doesn't f*** with Drake and I doubt Drake f***s with him so there's no world where that would have happened.

So, I checked to confirm and he was indeed averaging 50M daily streams before the beef popped off last year. My bad.

I think it's important to note though, that this was after he dropped For All the Dogs and Scary Hours 3 and he was touring the US at the time. Even with that, the fact that he's on pace to have 2025 as his biggest streaming year yet is very notable because he outside of Nokia, he hasn't scored any major chart hits this year and he's basically gone back to the streaming numbers he was doing before the beef.

not sure what possessed him to put TRAVIS SCOTT OF ALL PEOPLE on Fair Trade. would’ve been a 10/10 song without the beat switch

They tried to recreate sicko mode twice and failed

Who are these people spamming his back catalogue? Lol

New fans? Old fans? New gen?

Whoever they are I bet Drake wishes they listened to his new music so it would stop flopping so much

The singles to his most recent album and his album both did great and he finished a stadium tour, not much more you could wish for

The back catalog is what keeps the numbers padded, but when you constantly drop, even if the song flops commercially that’s still millions of streams added to the total

So even if which one and dog house stink and don’t do well individually they still add to the streams it’s pretty simple

If that’s what’s important to you as a fan, that’s fine, doesn’t matter to me tho

Who is listening to the back catalogue enough to pad him for 20-30 million gap over the next artist?
You want doghouse and which one to carry 10-15 m’s alone?

Yeah that sounds like the lowest bar and Drake lapped that few times over with $$$ and his own tour. So going back to your original nonsense about Drake wishing this and that, he’s not wishing anything trust
