i wonder what actually changed his drop plans for this album

1. losing lawsuit
2. all iceman episodes and songs in it getting bad to lukewarm reception (apart from what did i miss, super max, lake como)
3. all 2025 features flopping

because i honestly believe he intended for this to drop in october or november

He was on tour throughout the summer till late September and there's really nothing to suggest that anything that's happened delayed the release of the album. This isn't the first, second, third or even fourth time Drake is announcing an album several months or even over a year before eventually releasing it.

I said it when the Iceman episodes started dropping that none of those songs felt like singles to me. They felt like stuff he was making on the fly, like Drake wanting to officially mark the end of the $$$4U era and the beginning of the Iceman era by doing something different and giving fans new music along with that.

It always felt like he'd need ample time after the tour to lock in and really focus on crafting the album and that seems to be what he's been doing since the tour ended.

I'm sure he doesn't want to repeat what happened with For All the Dogs where he backed himself into a corner and rushed to complete the album when he could have easily taken more time to work on it and deliver an album that felt more cohesive and was ultimately better than what we ended up getting.

We already got an album from him this year. I'm more than fine with him taking as long as he feels he needs to complete Iceman. There's no need to rush at all.
