Harry styles droppin in the summer. Bruno mars album done single Friday. It’s either coming feb or next year

None of those people have ever affected how Drake has moved btw.

Drake, the long time artist, when he finds out that there are other artists who make music & plan on dropping albums, too.

    The sheer dread and horror

These are the same people who came in here writing epistles about how Taylor Swift made him cancel his entire album and delay it by several months (an album he never confirmed to be done working on btw).

I think he'll drop the album once he's done making it, the same way he's done with every album throughout his career lol.

If he doesn’t bar out, his career is functionally over, IMO.

If anything, it’s worse now because he’s seen how easy it is to do more with less, he raps functionally way less than he used to. Like the lyrical density has basically disappeared in totality.

You’re just proving the point. ā€œIt’s worse nowā€ implies (correctly) that we’ve been hearing ā€œhis career is over if xyz happensā€ for years now and the result is always the same. It’s a dramatic narrative that’s never true.

  • Im just hapyy Octavian is involved! Them beats about to be crazy!

I’ve always felt that his career suffers from his most successful songs being the ones he expended the least effort on and undermining his real b-sides. And he’s in an era of resentment and revenge and anger so he’s not just giving RAP FANS what they want. This is gonna be pop focused and he’s going to get skewered. I feel like just giving rap fans what they want would be the smart thing and he’s not gonna do that. He showing this persistent urge to do the absolute opposite of what any one actually wants from him out of spite.

I don’t totally disagree with you… but my question back to you is if it ain’t broke why fix it? Of course he has his projects that are rap heavy (IYRTITL, WATTBA, Her Loss) but his bread and butter has always been a mixed blend.

Now his delivery around some of these projects (FATD for example) have definitely started to feel like it’s out of spite, but it was still very much a successful rollout. Given that, this one might feel even more spiteful than any of his other projects, considering the last two years (almost) have been people calling him some nasty stuff. Idk, if I’m him I don’t stray away from what got me here in the first place, but that’s just my two cents.

He has run from real criticism about his ability to cater to rap fans and his fans have defended it by saying he caters to a wide audience. Well now he’s stuck in a mile wide inch deep level of content and seen as not really having a real niche he totally controls. He MUST A have a rap focused project. Anything less than that will be not only discredited it will accelerate an already closing window of legitimacy.

I’ve been a Drake fan before so far gone. I knew every word of comeback season. I just didn’t m know he would become an artist who doesn’t like to rap. I mean we’re entering the era of 40 year old rappers dominating critically acclaimed reception and mainstream access. What does Drake have to offer at this point in the next decade?

We should be hearing raps about elite business and lifestyle and fashion. Now we’re making threats and mocking people. Like I’m not saying you need to change your life to adjust to what Kendrick said but as a near peer what do I get for my almost 20 years of fandom? I think original fans gave him a lot of leeway to go chase fame and reach but he’s gotta come back home to us.

This would be a pretty fun interview

Drake won’t do a real interview with anyone outside of Joe Budden and that may not happen because there’s like 5-10 topics that if even referenced could end his career. Unless Drake himself finds a way to clear these topics up.

Every other interview will be highly edited. I still think there’s a real reason he hasn’t sat down with anyone seen as remotely ā€œcriticalā€ since 2018

I’m not saying it would be Gayle King level bad, but he’d have to have rehearsed answers to some of the most contentious rumors and conspiracies about him to totally clear the air. There’s a funk right now and I can’t shake this feeling I have that something is seriously happening behind the scenes

Doubt it. I onlyy want to see Drake do drink champs if its hella rappers talkin s***. Imagine a Drake, French, Fat Joe drink champs for example.

Again, I don’t totally disagree. I’m just offering a different POV. If it’s working, then I just have a hard time seeing him stray too far away from it.
