Since when has an album needed to be "cohesive" or sequenced properly to be enjoyed/appreciated for what it is?
You seem to think that the average Drake fan is looking to him to make songs that compete with or are better than songs they consider his best songs ever and you couldn't be more wrong. Most Drake fans just want decent songs they can keep revisiting and that's something he has long mastered and I'd say the same holds true for most fans or artists who have been active musicians for upwards of 5 years. At that point as a fan, you just want s*** you can keep coming back to.
For All the Dogs isn't a great Drake album, but it isn't a bad album by any means. There's more than enough highlights and standouts to keep the average Drake fan coming back so no one should be surprised that many fans genuinely enjoy the album.
You guys are the ones who seem to think that Drake, 20 projects in and 20+ years into his music career, should still be trying to make his best album every time he makes an album lol.

Since the invention of the album format

Every artist in every medium should be putting their best foot forward every time they release art into the world

Are you for real with that first sentence? Like seriously when you listen to albums does sequencing and cohesiveness just literally not matter to you? You really would be content if it just felt like you were on shuffle or if someone had just burned a disc with random songs from an artist on it?
Why did they take the OG FATD off AM??? They really be f***ing s*** up word to Jim Halpert
it’s still there for me?
it’s still there for me?
I couldn’t search for it in the AM but it was in my library minus FPS for some reason

Hmm, I remember when her loss was split on am for a bit. Could be a glitch

Been trying to listen through Jay Z’s discography and his s*** is completely f***ed up
I can go through the album and add songs to your list, but that won't change your mind.
I can tell you how Fear of Heights is a cheesy but that's why I like it, how What Would Pluto Do is the centerpiece of the album and a fascinating look into Drake's thoughts, how much I like the first part of 7969 Santa but you've heard all those songs too and have your own opinion.
I will say that Drake does have better albums and this one didn't have many songs at the top of his discog, but that's not what it's competing against, it's competing against all the other albums in my library and it rates highly there.
Oh yeah I like FOH too.
I like some of FATD tbf, I remade it ages ago and shortened it
and it still went #1
pre-beef drake was undefeated
out of interest, not quality.
drake’s singles dont have staying power, they have initial interest.
in fact, whats the last drake single to “bubble” to the top? And stay there?

NOKIA was the last but it got blocked by luther for the entire Spring
Not crazy info but I spoke to my cousin this past weekend and he said his gf’s bestfriends bf is a videographer in the UK and worked on iceman episode 3 in Manchester
He said he met Drake and his team and they were all very cool. Anyway he said that the episode cost nearly a million to make but also that the next episode was planned to be in Japan and that he’s not sure if it’s still happening but it was in the works 👀
Well this time he’s going to need to.
Please. Y'all have been calling every Drake album the most important album of his career since his debut album.

I said what I said. Every album doesn't need to be perfectly sequenced to be enjoyed by people. For most people these days, they listen to their favorite albums like playlists anyways. They're rarely playing it back from track 1 all the way through.

I blame spotify for most of this

You’re confused that some fans want the best music?

Gotta admit, cohesiveness matters on first listen, which is the most important
Another fake insider can we leave these guys in 2025

I mean tbf she is right there is a group of Drake fans that don’t really care which is their own prerogative but some of us know what he’s capable of and want him to hold himself to that standard not just coast
it's not like we bought a CD of the album. There are only a handful of rappers who release albums I can listen to all the way through, and even then I gravitate towards the best songs or songs that fulfill a certain mood.
I'm not going to complain because a 20 song album has 5 songs I dislike, I'm going to happy I get to listen to 15 that I do. I listen to music to feel emotions, not to evaluate an album's consistency.
The difference between a 15 song classic and a 20 song album with 5 filler tracks is that I have to press the "skip" button 5 times. I'm a grown man and that's not hard.
And FaTD has insane highs. I do think it can be a slog to get through all at once, but after listening to the album in chunks I like almost every song.
The rnb ones took longer to click but that's because I'm not as familiar with rnb. I think a lot of this negativity about inconsistent Drake albums is because you don't like the rnb. If so the middle section of the album will be boring.
@insertcoolnamehere this is what us Drake stans mean when we say we don't care about quality. As long as there are plenty of good songs on there we will be fine.
i hated Meet Your Padres so I deleted it off $$$. Now it's a better album.
You’re confused that some fans want the best music?
this isn't a drake thing even. I love Gucci Mane but even in his prime, his tapes have songs I dislike. I listen to the tape 2-3 times, figure out what I do and don't like and move onto the next.
it's not a big deal and i appreciate his lack of quality control because some really creative songs slipped through that a curator likely would have written off.
