    Like I said

No normal person is calling this album I.C.E.Man bro

    The average person is:

    1. Dumb as f***

    2. Looking to pile on any negativity on Drake’s name

    3. Illiterate

Obviously he ain’t referring to ICE but the word association alone is completely unnecessary right now. Don’t give people another reason to dislike you

The average person has no idea Drake wore iceman pants once in 2023, the majority of the world was introduced to this alias during the streams

    Just bad timing unfortunately

I agree but that doesn't mean Drake has to drop the name. If Marvel had plans to re-introduce OG X-Men characters in the MCU, I bet you they're not cutting off bringing back Iceman because of what's been happening in the US.

This is reminding me of when people were mad at Sydney Sweeney for the Jeans ad she did and went on a wild-ass tangent to insist she meant something else by it when that woman was just marketing some f***ing jeans. She did the smart thing by not bending to ridiculousness of the minority online who were mad at something she was never referring to in the first place.

Certain things just come off as mad performative, especially since it's clear to anyone with a brain what Drake means by that term. Personally, I don't think he should change it but if he changes it, I wouldn't mind. I just want the music. I could give a damn about the actual title of the album.

Marvel’s Iceman is a character that was created in the 1960s and already featured in a film franchise that lasted 20 years

To the average person, Drake has had zero association with the word Ice his entire career

  • Abyss

I get that. But I can already see streamers, podcasters etc. milking this as a "controversy" for weeks. But yeah, its not like he is new to that.

This is Drake. People don't need a reason to be mad at him. If they're gonna be mad at him, there isn't a shortage of things for them to bring up as a reason lol.

that’s because people know Iceman the Marvel character has existed for 60 years

Drake’s nickname ā€œicemanā€ has exclusively been used for random t-shirts he wore & his radio show that literally nobody outside this thread even knows exists

  • thegreatdivine

Does ICE spice need to change her name as well? What about ICE-t? Should everyone in America stop taking ICE cream now?

Yeah, that's how stupid you sound.

    Yes yes and yes!

  • MrPJP

Completely different context imo. I don’t think he necessarily needs to change it but to think these are equal comparisons is really naive

It's the same level of ridiculousness to me, sorry.

He doesn’t NEED to do anything obviously but we can’t keep pretending like it won’t keep being brought up, especially the worse this ICE situation gets, nobody is blaming Drake, it’s just incredibly inconvenient

I’m saying: why give them another stupid reason to dislike you? It’s not even a great album title anyway

They're in here legit mad about something that hasn't even happened yet. They don't even know that people will actually give a damn about this and they're masking it as "concern." It's hilarious.

the main thing is, why choose NOW to drop an album called Iceman?

he could’ve dropped it a year ago & honestly no one would care

That’s half the issue too, calling yourself that while also being incredibly friendly to people that platformed the man that controls ICE is just messy all around
