Think about it though. In the leaked version of pushups drake exposed Kendrick for already having a diss song that he knew about for 4 years. That revelation is why Kendrick could “predict his angle” because Drake had heard where Kendrick was going to take it in his mind. To me, that was another slip up on drakes end.
Taylor Made was very creative and funny.
But in hindsight... maybe a mistake as they threw a hissy-fit and contacted the estate.
Making it a west-coast thing, might have not been that smart. Drake alienated himself with that instead, which was something Kendrick had already done with having so much other artists (friends turned enemies of Drake) and the industry on his side.
Drake also trying to get ahead of stuff on that record, that didnt really matter or people cared about.
Moreso building hype and anticipation for Kendrick to double down and put that into a record, instead of it working to get ahead of it.
I think Drake misjudged or miscalculated what had been drawn up against him within in the industry. That he was walking into a battle he was never gonna win. Maybe he knew, but wanted to go down swinging? Who knows.
He took a hit, but in the end... his talent and music is just undeniable so he will be straight.
