This was not talking about signing up and literally gambling. It’s a different angle (the one that I’ve always been more concerned with) where these larger companies are essentially microdosing gambling into their video games/interfaces where a cosmetic, gun skin, etc. is given to you by chance. In short terms, You use the games currency, you win something.

Think about GTA 5. Plenty of kids play that game. You can literally walk right into a casino on that game and gamble on a blackjack table for hours using in game currency. The article also touches on sports betting (mostly with peers) making side bets, betting lines, etc. and also shows a shocking number of kids gamble with close family (a parent, older sibling, etc.). I think this is a much bigger issue that slides under the radar because it’s direct access but seems harmless in most peoples eyes because “it’s just video games, it’s not real”. I mean kids can spend 6 hours a day playing video games.

Anyways, I say all of this to say this didn’t really prove the point that everyone itt was making, but I think it brought up a more relevant point to the discussion.
