There are some people that are beyond the discussion of being underrated or overrated

Very unlikely that there will ever be a musician as popular as MJ again

No he is just another artist, its debateable and in the 1980s, if music was catchy and the label was pushing you, it's no surprise you'd become globally popular because people listened to whatever the label was promoting

Michael is closer to Jesus Christ’s popularity than any of them are closer to Michael’s popularity

You all think every #1 Michael Jackson hit is a cult hit, but out of his 13 hits, 5+ were sloping songs that most people don't remember today. Yes, he was incredibly popular, but not on an astronomical scale as you might think.

But to be realistic, if MJ were making music in todays conditions, Drake would be more popular than him.

And if Drake was making music in the conditions of the 1980s, we wouldn't know who he was

You will be able to say the same plus some about the three you named in 30 years, that’s just how time works

But MJs presence at his peak was unlike anything we’ve seen and we haven’t seen it since

If MJ put ice in the street with a release date, a million ppl would’ve showed up at once

I’ve seen everyone involved live, including MJ, it’s not a comparison

It’s not those artists fault, celebrity culture is extremely different and fame is split into more directions than ever

  • People like to ignore timing and other factors when we act like 20th century acts are untouchable all the time

Its not hard to understand this, nowadays, it's not the one who creates the perfect sound that wins, but the one who creates the vibe sound.
