ICEMAN40It’s definitely predatory in nature. Have you looked into the student loan crisis at all?? S***s absolutely nuts… essentially what’s happening is these lenders are signing a 18 year old kid up for college with a 150K loan on 12-14% interest when they don’t even have a major declared yet… college gets paid from the lender and then you have those kids hooked for 20-30 years paying on a ridiculous loan and a massive chunk of those kids end up not even finishing school… it’s a real problem. One that I’m really concerned about.

i just paid off my 9K loans just last month, even though the province interest rate wasn't even that high
i was also blessed that most of the money given to me was given as a grant, not a loan, so i never had to pay that back

The only reason I went and got a doctorate was because it was paid for
I would never be in debt for anything except my house. And that’ll be paid off next year. Wouldn’t have even been able to buy my house but my wife had student loans so we could.

I think those government student loans were designed with good intentions but the cost of education got too expensive too quickly and way outpaced inflation
