if i’m being honest when NTWS dropped i wasnt even fully 5 yet so yeah my perspective might be a little shaped by my age but at the same time i love a ton of albums from like the 50s to 80s so its not like i have some anti old music agenda 😭 i was literally obsessed with the roots until i was like 14
for me the issue with NTWS is that sometimes the flow gets kinda monotonous like yeah the lyrics are good in those moments im not denying that at all but for me music is first about the sound and then the meaning (i do care about meaning too dont get me wrong) but if im gonna replay a song over and over it cant feel boring i can enjoy it during a full album listen thats fine but afterwards i dont really feel like going back to some of those tracks
and its not like i hate the album there are songs on NTWS i genuinely love and replay a lot i just dont agree with people acting like its this untouchable god tier level that drake could never reach again
