Not gonna expose what part of the album rollout I’m tied to or what department I’m in. I’m not some top-level exec or anything, but I’m definitely in a place where a lot of info moves through, and I’m cool with people across a few other teams.
I don’t know what the next drop is, but I do know it’s supposed to be the lead single. Also, “plottwist” is gonna be used in EP 4, but afaik it’s not one of the main records. More of a fan-service loosie type thing.
Thank you OVO Sleeze
Someone take op from Winter
Iceman isn’t about fan service, it’s about changing the narrative. Drake’s got rage fans and pop fans too. I’m telling y’all now, this album is not rap-heavy. Think a more modern, slightly upgraded Views.
I promise you he does not have rage fans. Guy has like four rage-influenced songs in his catalog, three of them are Yeat collabs, and two of those are hated songs
Betrayal
As We Speak
Daylight
IDGAF
DOG HOUSE
I don’t think anyone wants a Drake album that sounds like this
I mean I think its clearly interpolating that track but has nothing to do with Drake or "his opps" I was just joking about that
Because he says love and affection once?

I will do very bad things if DOG HOUSE is on ICEMAN

Not a soul on earth

Would easily be a bottom five song on any Drake project

you gotta understand their thought process
they want all the songs possible so they can pick the ones they like after one listen to add to a playlist

dont get mad again now deep pockets
Just making up s*** in his mind. Clearly mentally off lol. But he’s been that way in here in months
This makes no sense to me. What narrative would he be changing exactly, by doing what sounds like a very similar album to almost all of his recent solo albums?
The people hating on Drake aren't saying he can't make pop songs or rage songs anymore, or that he doesn't have his place in those genres, quite the opposite. IMO, Drake wouldn't be changing any narratives, he would be confirming them instead.
At the end of the day, if that's the music that Drake feels inspired to do, then that's all that matters. He'll do what he feels is best for him at the moment. But if he's expecting that to change people's narratives and/or opinions, he's dead wrong.
Let me explain real quick. Drake isn’t trying to turn his haters into fans here. But after 2024, even though a lot of casual listeners kept listening to him, some of them started thinking, ‘Is he starting to fade a little? Is he not untouchable anymore? Is he past his prime?’ Drake wants to break that perception.
The purpose of Iceman is to say: ‘I’m still a giant in this industry, I still have hits, and I still make good music.
