Hip-hop has been declining commercially since 2023, the beef just delayed that downward trend

  • I’ll never get that time back

remember guys we're in "dot era" and drake fell off but kendrick doing 319k first week is the same as drake doing 400k+. according to kbots, this is totally coherent logic

  • If you think this selling 350k you’re smoking crack

    sadly so.

I just never expected the dude who made TPAB to be the one who accelerated and benefited off of it

Almost every time I come in here they talking about sales numbers as if they are making money from it

If they betting on it I get it . Drake could get dogshit sales and if it’s lyrical with some dance hype tracks I don’t care

    Hope he admits he lost

it’s ironic. How this perceived “dot era” has brought nothing positive to rap. just dead numbers and a gap in cultural impact

If iceman sells exactly the same as gnx you will label it a flop

  • Abyss

It all depends on how many hits there are. Is it a generic Drake album with a couple songs that'll make his core fans happy or it is going to be more impactful like most of his work pre-CLB?

I think its the second option because he took a lot of time for this album and he knows how much is riding on this. There was no pressure with FATD but this time its different

I agree and I said the literal same thing tbh

Hitting that number will take some huge hits and until we see those it’s pretty reasonable to think 600 is a reach

Bro, let's say Drake won the beef and dropped a Not Like Us-level smash

Hip-hop would still be in the same place commercially right now because it was already headed there before the beef ever happened

was it not "drake-era" when hiphop numbers were s*** in 2023?
