May 6JPGI guess i’m trying to say a collaboration would reflect a broader sentiment in hip hop. The big three are our last remnants of the Monoculture of 2010s and any co-signs they can give are massive for the continuity of hip hop as a Cultural superpower. When all of them are beefing and have everyone attached picking sides it ruins opportunities for collaboration and highlights the worst and darkest moments in the space. I also just think that drake gives younger and newer artists way more opportunities than Kendrick with shoutouts, references, placements on radio shows, features and remixes
Then my next question would be, how much do sentiments reflect numbers? The "Big 3" individually had already put out classic albums, had the highest selling albums and songs, and had been inspirations for many new artists. They did all that and rap still declined numbers wise.
Saying a Big 3 collab is what would've prevented this from happening just sounds like a cope tbh. It would've been a cute track that stopped being talked about after a couple of weeks. Then stans would've endlessly argued about who had the best verse. At least a beef cuts out all of the bullshit middleman.
The whole "taking sides" thing is only stans lol. The artists don't care, and I doubt it would've changed the music that has been released in 2024-2025. Would Cardi B, Thug, Clipse, Kanye, Carti, etc drop different music in this scenario?
Yeah it's cool that Drake shows love to new artists. But hip hop still declined numbers wise in spite of it. There is objectively something causing hip hop to become less popular and I think it's disingenuous to say the MOST popular event in rap is even part of the reason. That has been my overall point ITT. You can't claim to love this hip hop s*** then just make what's happening in it fall on Kendrick's shoulders.

Kendrick’s one of my favorite artists but Iceman will easily outsell GNX first week. Partly due to the number of tracks but also because Drakes a bigger artist
Whether it has the same staying power will come down to whether or not it’s ass
Also who unironically cares about sales in 2026? S*** meant something when you were measuring how many people went to the store and bought a CD. Nobody irl knows how many streams technically count as a sale and how that varies from platform to platform and whose using bots. The music being good is all that matters
