thats late for us olds
I mean I do feel ya
I stayed up to listen to Iceman after the stream, but it was actually refreshing to have the stream relatively early at least
That stream was legendary. Not enough talk about that
Especially those fireworks at the end felt so monumental and legendary. Plus I like how each song had its own set of visuals. You can tell a lot of thought went into this piece of art.
it was so late and we all old
9pm isn’t that bad. I just watched that and was asleep before midnight.
To call the project low effort or lacking direction just feels so off base when the music was cohesive with a clear direction and every song had a video that played as one sequence but
I was just driving through New York with this album playing, and people laughed at me several times
Was it the album or was it the kia soul with the israel flag paint job that made them laugh?
There’s no way he made iceman. Gotta be writers or something
The trolling ain't hitting bro
Genius move, and not even for the obvious reasons.
Drake and Kendrick both had deals with UMG, and UMG heavily promoted “Not like us”, which hurt drake’s credibility with false claims. They intentionally tried to hurt drake’s image so they could weaken his contract renegotiations if they ended up having them, which is why Drake is suing them.
Umg obviously has been with Drake now due to being sued, so they hardly promoted iceman at all. All of iceman’s promotion was directly through Drake and OVO with no major promotion from UMG.
This is important, because if Drake somehow manages to land 3 albums in the top 5 in Debut and get a crazy amount a sales on top of critical acclaim, then it proves Drake doesn’t need the machine or it’s support to succeed or to even thrive.
This is invaluable when it comes to potentially signing another deal. This could potentially secure him like a LeBron-Nike type deal from like Apple or someone adjacent. He could even just choose to stay independent, since he clearly doesn’t even need the machine at this point and keep all that profit for himself.
Genius move and proves that he is one of the most important artists of all time. Imagine if he secure the top 3 album spots on debut. He would be the first artist in history to not just debut in the top 3 spots, but to ever have the top 3 spots simultaneously.
He is also set to potentially have 11 albums in the top 200 by next week with these latest 3 albums, since he currently has 8 already right now. He will pass Taylor swift (who had 10 albums in top 200 at one time), and will only trail David Bowie who had 17 at once. Legendary
Are Apple even allowed to have a record label/signed acts? Wouldn't that be some conflict of interest stuff?
Sort of like how Hov had to sell the crumb of the Nets (that he got given to sell out his hometown) so that he could enter the sports agent industry?
Yeah the other two albums are way better than this idk why he put this out.
Just put habibti and maid of honor together and you got drakes best album
Iceman is bullshit
Bullshit? You can’t relate to turnt braggadocios Drake lol it’s all good. It’s winner music tbh. Revisit the album if you ever level up in life my guy

Also I dont think there's any confirmation UMG "didn't promote Iceman" it's been promoted for the better part of 2 years at their expense. I think the quiet rollout these past few weeks were all Drake's choice for the 3 album surprise, which was a unique move
Plus you have all these streamers and reactors with freezy icy snow themes for their reactions that also acts as like additional promo--they ain't doing that for other artists besides drake
