Smacked VoodooI actually agree with this, f*** the critics. But I feel like since Scorpion, Drake's worst enemy has lowkey been his fans cause he keeps trying to please them at the sacrifice of the quality of his music and even ability.
We've heard Drake put out better albums that stuck to a sound/vibe instead of feeling like a collection of random tracks thrown together.
I feel like it's an insult to Drake for him to be compared to Chris Brown, because at least with Drake despite him bloating his albums at times, there was still a sense of quality control. Chris Brown really just squats out some generic and forgettable s***e that his fans accept cause they have god awful taste. I don't know man, I just feel like Drake should want more for himself than, because he has shown he is capable of doing more and still being wildly successful. It's how he got so successful in the first place.
The pivotal moment was Views to me because when the critics didn't receive it like he hoped, he pivoted to the fans exclusively. Plus the whole Rolling Stone thing before messed up his relationship with mainstream media.
Also Drake fans are very diverse. We aren't Beyhive where they are coordinated. There's UK Drake, Tropical Drake, ATL Drake, R&B Drake and Hip Hop Drake. Part of what makes him great in my opinion.
