Drake has purposefully dropped 17 projects (excluding Care Package and DLDT), been there for almost every cultural moment in rap over the past almost 20 years, stepped in the ring any time his name was called on, given literally countless others a bigger platform for their own name, pioneered what it means to be a modern hip hop superstar like please put some respect on his name put the hate aside sometimes and just appreciate the work ethic

Dude when you break it down he has done everything you want a rapper to do and more for maybe longer than anyone

the game was already crumbling ala streams and short attention spans siphoning the average listener from viewing music as more than just background noise.

While one can argue that Iceman is his best work in this decade, you can argue that it is definitely not his best work period.

Someone mentioned earlier that most his albums separate the raps with the R&B cuts and the versatility kept people engaged, even as slow as Habibti is, I felt more of a drag finishing Iceman the most with the fact that content-wise, 18 tracks of "I hate you nigga let's die" reminds me of Blood In My Eye by Ja Rule where it's iike..."cool you got back at all those mean haters, where the music come in" type of records y'know?

I think it's one of his best on the album but I do hear criticisms that the 2nd verse of Janice STFU does take some people out (I personally think it's hard but I can understand the subject matter making songs like Janice STFU come off dated in the couple of years when the world moves on from "beef brain")

Iceman ultimately showed Drake still has it in him to drop a passioned project, but do I think it'll ultimately "change the genre" or save whatever's left of hip hop? I dont' know tbh.

I don’t think it changed the game at all because the game is rigged, iceman could’ve sounded like MBDTF 2 it wouldn’t have mattered

another thing folks do is “i dont like iceman but i love moh” to be different like being f***ing fr, you can like both lmao

To be fair, they’re totally different albums so I could see how someone would like one but not the other

My homeboy skimmed the album in 20 minutes on release night and said it’s trash and he only liked Plot Twist

I was like “you listened to 18 rap songs in 20 minutes?”

He’s a Kenny fan so I’m not surprised but I was like why are you even listening to the album bro?

lmao when u like an artist u listen to the album MORE than once not just one time. Need at least 4-5 spins From the top
