This if my least favorite guy drake has connected himself to

Like at least with akademiks it makes sense because he's the hip hop news media guy

    This guy just sucks

While this is obviously incredibly fake

I love how Kendrick made such undeniable music during the beef it made Drake second guess every friendship he’s ever been in, in his life

That isn’t the argument, they all have huge white fan bases

Pac is literally the GOAT rapper starter pack for every white kid getting into rap, but that doesn’t reflect badly on Pac because he is a GOAT and he earned it

And Kendrick has a better discography and has earned it as well

I feel he should have expounded on it . I don’t think it’s just guilt . It’s similiar to what SpongeBob said . It’s worshipping of one rapper . Which is what I have been saying . Rather than a love of the craft . Someone who loves art recognizes I’m not involved in this beef I wasn’t involved in Jay Z Nas beef I wasn’t in biggie pac beef . They can break down what an artist does well and what they don’t . They can applaud skill . They have their personal one they gravitate to sure but they don’t fully feed into tribalism to be unable to give any form of props or “ I’m afraid to say I like Drake because it’s uncool and supporting Drake is supporting a pedo “

I shouldve clarified/thought longer on what i was saying before but

I think my problem comes in where people develop this mindset of kendrick being some singular artist in hiphop thats worth breaking down in this way and sure he has a way with words thats unique to his style and hes checking all these boxes but i just feel like people are weird about it where so many other rappers are talking about s*** thats going on and giving so much material in the music,

like even artists that wouldnt be thought of as "highbrow" and super "lyrical" still provide a lot of social comment just by speaking about whats going on around them, how they feel about s***, comparing the different lifestyles, and so on and so on

Hiphop is so wordy that there is so much there if u just think. and so many dif types of skill sets within the usage of words

I agree that his music does get overanalyzed nowadays, but don’t you think he’s partially earned that level of dissection in his work with his meticulously crafted his first four albums were?

Do you realize there are countless other rappers with even more lyrically dense works that never reach that level even with great albums because they aren’t as successfully accepted by white people ?
