Yeah I cannot believe how much I enjoy the album lol. Like as a Drake fan I've never once clicked with a whole project (especially at first, usually only a couple standouts to me), I f*** w/ every one of the songs here.

Just a really, extremely good album, I really didn't think it'd live up to hype

Honestly, this album makes his previous flagship albums look bad by comparison lol

Drake reimagined what a Drake album experience should sound like, which was badly needed. CLB, FATD, Scorpion and I would even argue Views struggle with being all over the place, mixing hard rap cuts with mellow R&B records. His “non-canon” albums like HNVM actually did a better job at keeping a consistent sound.

Drake was plagued by his self-imposed requirement to do both rap & R&B on the same album and this time he freed himself of that. And he still brought his GOAT level melodies to the table on ICEMAN. And with all the pressure in the world to deliver too.

This is honestly my favorite Drake album

This is a fair take but I would say that he was able to be tighter and more cohesive on this one unlike his most recent stuff. his lyricism is much more consistent on iceman

Take Care and NWTS jumped in and out of rap to r&b to straight up pop. But those were much richer and threaded together well like Iceman

Yeah the beef and everything that’s happened since gave Drake so much material to work with

Agreed on TC & NWTS. I just think the stakes for this release were so high, and still exceeding fans expectations, AND doing a whole visual album, I have to put this at the top

5 years on and I think "500k or dinner with Jay Z" is an all time meme

I don't think anyone other than the guy who first asked it ever thought it was a real q but it's managed to pop up as a meme like every year for 5 years on I feel like large portion of Gen Z and younger associate Jay Z with that meme lol

I think it he just went through a lot in his mind and personally.

    From the beef
Seeing things and people in new light
    His label
    His family
    Realising he is getting older
    Relationships

He had a lot to talk about and a lot to say

Might be. Never thought I’d see the day where I would be questioning Tuscan Leather getting moved out of the 1 spot.
