After a week of listening the high has finally worn off. If I was a Drake fan this would be a 9/10. I definitely think it’s his best project by far but I’d rate it 6/10 due to it having multiple perfect songs weather they were written by him or not. It’s hard to look past all the lies and living in denial in the 2nd half, it’s hard to relate when Drakes not living in reality. The music is really good in the first half but becomes unforgivable for me right at the iceman was a nice man line. Plot twist is an anthem for throwing up fake gang signs, 2 hard for the radio is good on the first half but then turns into a cartoon version of squabble up, Make Them Remember is the heart part 6 part 2 I can’t take a single line in that song serious it was recorded in a cursed studio session, don’t worry is the iceman version of Marvin’s room just toxic degeneracy, it’s a song for weirdos that creepily check out women when they are with their man, the woman that can relate to the song are able to do so cause drakes loves songs are from the perspective of the lead female in a relationship. Firm friends goes nowhere, make them know sounds like drakes watch the party die. But it sounds like defeat, it’s so appropriate that he ends the album on “what happened to the innocent vulnerable Drake from 09, I don’t think we’ll be seeing him again” because it leaves you stuck in the same spot like nlu just dropped. It’s almost like a Freudian slip, Drake says that as if it were to mean that he’s been stabbed in the back so much, the world/industry made him the iceman, but it more reveals that we aren’t going to get that Drake again because he’s been stuck mentally since he decided he didn’t want to be soft or vulnerable anymore
