Aug 26, 2024thegreatdivineIt's telling that the only W Kendrick fans can claim from the MMATBS era is the success of the tour lol. Even they don't f*** with the album (it's the worst-performing Kendrick album chart-wise after Section.80, even TPAB performed better). Now, if he'd dropped that album after a steady yearly drop of albums and it performed that poorly, it'd be understandable but that was his first album in 5 years and his first album after his biggest album yet so it's lack of cultural impact/commercial success was that more obvious, not to mention none of the features he did after that landed. Meanwhile, Drake and Cole were out here scorching up. No wonder he was so pissed off. The jealousy had to come out somehow lol.
For his sake, I hope his next album is a massive success because if it isn't, all of this would have really been for nothing.
Yeah, that’s the unfortunate part of taking so long to release music. You’re being given that time to make a very good work of art and when you don’t, people are going to rightly critique you on it and if your fans aren’t playing it then somethings wrong.
