I’ve never understood this “came and went” argument. This is what usually happens with ALL albums. Once it’s been out for a while and new albums come out then people talk about the older ones less. No matter how popular or critically acclaimed they are.

The only reason it seems like certain albums are spoken about for longer is usually because they’re the ones you really enjoy so the algorithms show you more of people talking about them. Drake haters will be saying the same about Iceman in a months time while we’ll still be seeing s*** daily.

For example I really enjoyed TFO so I still see posts and media pages talking about it. Whereas you don’t. It’s not this smoking gun that determines whether something is good or not lol

I feel like it didn’t land with casuals that’s really the main issue

Same issue that TPAB and Mr Morale had with Kendrick, casuals called it trash mid boring came and went blah blah but the artistry stood the test of time

Obviously The Fall Off is no TPAB but there is enough artistry there that it will be looked at as a great Cole album in the end. Really only FNL 2014FHD and TOS are in its same weight class in Cole discog it’s frying everything else easily
