I’m neutral I never switched up on homes but I never stopped being a Dot fan or a Cole fan, my favorite rapper is The Big 3
Yeah a lot of people takes be irrelevant but imo it’s always been how the culture views your work in a neutral space that defines your legacy not just how your stand view your work.
It’s a lot of lil b Stans that probably think one of his albums is the best rap album of all time or something but in a neutral space that opinion is absurd lol. On the flip side most Kanye fans think MBDTF is one of the best rap albums of all time and in a neutral space that opinion still holds.
Now with Drake I get the fact that a lot of that is skewed because so much of the hate he gets has nothing to do with his talent and there are not many people in the culture that have a neutral unbiased Drake opinion but that’s one of the reasons why I think it’s important for him to let the music speak for itself when it is this undeniable, you can’t control the narratives but you can control what you give people to focus on type s***
Either way it’s just a minor observation and just my opinion, overall I feel like Iceman is unbiasedly beloved and in a neutral space people are pretty high on it and happy with it so it’s all good

S*** is a STRONG RAOTD contender especially with it being such a weak decade, there really isn’t much out there with this much reach and impact that has this level of rapping and production especially with it being so tied to current events, the battle etc
Habibti is fire too don’t get me wrong really ain’t no skips if we keep it a buck and MOH ain’t for me but I see the appeal. He could’ve just waited and dropped them both later maybe even drop Habibti and MOH on the same day a few months after iceman like around now, I think that would have been better
All the noise around him dropping 40+ songs in one day undermined how great of an album Iceman is by itself
Respect your opinion bro. I just feel like this would be more damming if he wasn’t almost 20 years deep in his commercial career. He has literally nothing left to prove commercially so if he wanted to drop 1 album or 3 albums or 5 albums he’s earned that right
All three albums have something enjoyable if you’re a fan which is all I can ask for personally

iceman was the main project, the other 2 were passion projects for his non hip hop fans and never expected to do anywhere close to as well as iceman

Nope I agree with you it’s definitely the main course but I think him even attempting something this radical was a dope concept that will keep people fed for as long as he wants to take until the next one

Not complaining, just calling it what it is. You can frame it as passion projects, other people have framed it as just a way to get out of his deal, both are just as likely. Whether it’s migos or Chris brown or Drake, this is over saturation.
Drake is free to do it, it doesn’t make him less of an artist. It just means a lot of the content will naturally fade out of the picture more quickly

only songs with real staying power were on iceman.
if i was a label id restrict him to one release at a time. the fact that it was 43 songs and you think it was 41 shows it was simple over saturation and not a power move

i really feel he did it for the fans (and he is drake he has a lot of fans so cattering to them also means a lot of money)
There were ways to make the 3 album drop a lot more benefitial for him sales wise. So imo he just did the main album + 2 fan service projects
