If they join Nato Ukraine will go to war with Russia and America will back then financially and logistically with weapons and supplies.

This will do nothing but prolong the bloodshed if all out war breaks out.

Better to let Russia just bumrush Ukraine with minimal casualties on both sides than to have a long drawn out , bitter war proxied by out taxpayer money.
