Yeah lmao, but a lot of these tweets coming from people who don't have any real interest in the war itself or actually support Putin with any real reasoning behind it, but are just from countries who have been under attack by the West either historically (more often than not both ).

Just taking Ethiopia for an example here: two days ago it was the Anniversary of the battle of Adwa in Ethiopia, a decisive battle where Ethiopia defeated Italy when they tried to colonize Ethiopia, (the first time an African nation defeated the colonizers btw ETHIOPIA STRONK 🇪🇹🇪🇹🇪🇹). Russia helped Ethiopia with military aid, for which there are several reasons, one of which being that they're both Orthodox Christian, but anyway a lot of Ethiopians showed support for Russia at those celebrations

Another reason for this is that there has been a civil war in Ethiopia that you may have heard about, and the US had been supporting the TPLF side, which ruled Ethiopia for almost 30 years as an authoritarian ethno-nationalist oligarchy that devolved into a terrorist force when they lost power after a popular revolt, while Russia has supported the legitimate Ethiopian government.

It'll be hard to understand for some, but in the same way that for Eastern European countries want protection from the US and NATO, a lot of Global South countries want and get protection from Russia against Western imperialism, and everyday people from those countries are not gonna have a nuanced take on this conflict, it's just the enemy of my enemy is my friend.

I just hope it won't eventually turn into countries who have warm relations with Russia will get sanctioned harder and face more aggression by the West because of this war. Remember the Cold War was not exactly "Cold" for Global South countries, it was just one hot proxy war after another. Just as for Ukrainians this isn't a new "Cold" war.

That same "necessary evil" reasoning that justifies punishing innocent Russians to fight against Russia's actions could get used to punish the people of other countries that don't take action against Russia too. That was part of the justification for the Cuban embargo to the American public for example.

I hope people won't support aggression towards any and all countries on the pretext of fighting the Russians, but I'm not so hopeful honestly. People seem to have kinda went rabbid and already support any and all measures against Russia even if it hurts innocent people. And these types if images that will undoubtedly be used by the media certainly won't help

I'm going off on a tangent here lmao but there are just so many reasons that this war needs to be stopped, the suffering of the people who have suddenly been sent off to die by Putin and the Ukrainians most importantly, but there are so many other global implocations too and it doesn't look good This war is just gonna be a disaster for the entire world
